Here is the new site as eofficials does not have anything to do with baseball anymore... 1 quick thing if you want to use the site if does cost 50-100 depending on what you select. You will get a Rule Book, CCA Manual, and a $20 gift card to Honigs.

Prices are as follows...

$100 mandatory for D I (includes test)

$50 for D II, D III (no test)

$100 for JUCO and High School

SERIOUS! I wanted to get the updated info for interpretations this year so that I am up to date for when I try and get into the college unit up here... Man!

How much HS stuff do they have... $100 seems really steep.

listen if you sign up just put on there your a D-II or D-III umpire then you only have to pay $50 instead of $100...LOL

I already paid my money and almost all of it is coming back, $20 gift card, CCA manual ( i already had one) and a rule ( already have 2 of those)... all of th test and videos will be on there.

My only issues is that I want to use it to keep up on info that I am missing by A) not being on a college staff this year and not making it to any of the NCAA meetings.

I guess, if I look at it a certain way, that when I do get into the college unit next year (cocky right?) then I would be working D3 and there is at least one D2 school the association covers... so that would count... right?

Also, like I posted on another thread on here... the $100 isnt so bad. I figure that you get 60% of it back in material things. $20 for Honigs, $20 for the CCA manual (which the state of Oregon uses for HS as well as college ball), and $20 for the rule book (which I already got one for last year). So all in all, the test, videos and other content all come out to about $40 in the end. Thats not bad.

Still not TO pleased about having to pay for it now, but what can you do right?

well i'm a college guy and Im still not sure about paying.. last year it was free, all the same stuff and now we are paying... but whatever...

it would be good for you to pay, Tom Hiler does the assigning for the DII in your area, and he is a big part of the new uip ( umpire improvement program) ...so paying will show your trying..

Steve Rei is the assignor for the PBUA and is Ed's father. He was the local College assignor for the NCUA till this year.

If you attended the Dallas or Atlanta NCAA Clinic, you've already heard about the NCAA's new umpire registration system. There will be a presentation about the registration process at the Philly and LA clinics also. For those of you that won't be making a 2010 NCAA Clinic or those that have questions about this new registration system, I'll do my best to explain what I know . . .

For the first time the NCAA is registering umpires. Registration is only mandatory for umpires who want to be considered for NCAA Division I post season play. ArbiterSports is the host of this NCAA registration system. This is in no way related to the use of our CBUA Arbiter assigning system--all CBUA umpires are already in that system, so please do not confuse the two. The ArbiterSports site is where umpires register with the NCAA to ensure they are eligible for Division I post season assignments and to receive other benefits. If you have questions about requirements for NCAA post season assignment at the D-II level, contact Ace Howard at xss@arn.net and for questions at the D-III level, contact George Drouches at george@autoporter.com The registration fee of $100 for D-I umpires and $50 for sub D-I umpires entitles you to a variety of outstanding benefits. The email didnt really answer a lot of my questions as to why they are doing it. Also if you want the NCAA video updates and such it looks like the only place to get it unless some poor idiot decides to put it on YouTube (lets hope this does not happen... I would hate to see what would happen to said idiot!).

So its kind of a DAMNED if you DO and DAMNED if you DONT kind of situation. Honestly, if you go the $50 route, which would qualify for most of us college guys on here, then you basically get the videos and such for free since you get a $15-20 CCA manual, the $15 or so NCAA rule book and $20 to Honigs. Sounds kind of like a steal... especially since most of us would get those books anyways (and the $20 for Honigs is just a bonus).

I have decided to wait until April after I work some HS games and get some extra money in my pocket before I buy in... and yes, hopefully my name will cross the desk of Mr. Hiler and he will notice that I am up here and want in.

I've written eofficials several times about a partial refund because they never mentioned that they were going to end NCAA baseball and they've never replied. Go figure. I didn't see anything on the Arbiter site about receiving books or coupons so am I to assume that they are in the welcome packet? If I get the CCA manual, I'll know not to buy it next year. It is worth it if you do get all that is mentioned. Staring out the window at pouring rain and 55 degree temps in the northeast which means that nature is really messed up or baseball's right around the corner.

so i signed up for the New NCAA site about 2 weeks ago. I just got my cool rule book ( it is in a spiral binder..LOL) and as for the gift card Honigs will contact you a few weeks after you sign up. celt62 the CCA comes out every year.. so you get a new one next year.. I'm a member of the CBUA and we get CCA and a shirt with our membership.

Thanks for the info. I bought my CCA two months ago off of Referee.com. I think it was $19.99 with free shipping. But if I'm going to get these "gifts" then I'll make sure I wait until next year.

You can also do what I do... give your extras to people that need it. New umpires, old umpires, people you just met... hell give it to your mother-in-law for her birthday and tell her to get her ass out on the field. LOL

hate to hear that.. I go to a lot of LSU games here and was just wanting to watch it to imporve my knowledge about NCAA rules and mechanics.. Also I've began to work some CC intrasquad scrimmages here and might have a chance to break to that level in the next year or so.. I guess that explains why you can no longer find anything NCAA related on youtube
