Getting to pick the brains of these guys is wonderfull. I have learned so many things. Combining this with rules book and casebook study, plus game experience has helped me exponentially.

One of the best things is that you find guys of all levels of experience, who call all ages. They are willing to help evereyone, share stories and even let you know when they made a mistake. That's why I like this site.

Completely agree with Stan. Remember, when you think you learned something new, ask a question about to reenforce that knowledge. Many times I thought I understood something when I actually only had part of the equation.

Hello everybody. I am 16 year old umpire out of Orange County, California. I instructed the Junior Umpire School in San Bernandino in June of this year. It was a great experience. I had been a student the previous two years and just absolutely loved it. I started umpiring when I was nine years old. My good friend referred me to this website.

I have already posted about 3 replies to threads. I look forward to posting more answers to peoples questions and possibly posting some questions of my own.

hey gentlemen,

i was searching the WWW one day and came accross this site. what a tremendous find.

i am a 15 year old umpire out of southern orange county, california. i do mostly LL baseball games for District 55 and District 68. very very good umpires out of this area.

i attented JUTS (Junior Umpire Training School) in 2007 and 2008. this school is held at the Western Region complex in San Bernadino usually the first week school gets out. it is a week long school. the complex has (the new and improved cafeteria) the best food around. the complex houses the students in the same dorms the teams that play in the WR tournament stay. the students are tought by some of the finest umpires in the game. students are tought on the field (postioning) and in the classroom (rules). this school is modified into a week's form from the Jim Evan Acadamy of Professional Umpiring. after a week of this school, students will not only be much better umpires, they will have the character needed to preform such a difficult task.

in the 2008 year, i was voted upon my 65 other students (ranging in ages 13-17) the umpire at the school (excluding of cource the instructors) that best exemplifies the character, dedication, and enthusiam of a Little League Umpire. For JUTS 2009, I was asked to come back as an instructor. great school and great environment for Junior Umpires looking to learn the rules and become the best umpires they can be.

if anyone needs any additional information about the JUTS program, please just let me know.
