bump for new leg guard listing -
Still learning to navigate the Fed rulebook but I only see a carve-out to return runners to TOP for an uncought foul ball (8-2-9). Otherwise the closest I can get is 8.4.2 Situation R: With R3 on third base, R1 on first and two outs, B5 hits a fair slow roller toward first base. B5 interferes with F3, who is trying to field the ball. However, R3 scores before the interference. Does the run score since R3 touched home plate before the interference? RULING: The run does not score if the runner advances during action in which the third out is made by the batter-runner before touching first base. I agree completely with @johnnyg08 that the logical ruling would be to not count the run. With that said, with less than two outs I like @jimurrayalterego's solution, but with two outs and no possibility of a double play I can't find a way to either get R3 or BR, and I don't see a way to avoid (unhappily) scoring the run.

quick preseason bump...Adding a specific item to the trade list: anyone have a set of the older All-Star system 7 double knee leg guards (smaller 17.5in size)? Love my All-Star stuff generally but wasn't a fan of the (lack of) ankle coverage on the Cobalt, am interested in a bit more thigh protection, and haven't had luck looking for the system 7 on Ebay. -

Getting curious about trying the force3 mask if anybody wants to trade for the pluspos + cash…I also am a 10.5 shoe and a small or medium shirt/jacket if you have anything else to offer. 😅Just want to get rid of this mask that is sitting… -

Ok, decided I'm going to stick with the hockey mask, so rearranging the post and re-listing the +Pos Zro-G with a price drop. Somebody please take it from me! I have a (somewhat beat up) All-Star pre-cobalt skull cap I can throw in for free if you want to try it out with the mask as well. -

Sorry about that -- my mental math was to figure out what I wanted for each item and add ~$10 to cover shipping. If somebody were to buy two items, rather than charge them the full sum including my estimated independent shipping cost for both (i.e. $140. for both mask and chest protector), I would take a few bucks off to reflect that I was still netting more or less what I wanted for each item, the buyer was getting multiple items at a good price, and I can make one fewer trip to the post office. What I meant by "discount/combine shipping" was that I'm combining shipping on my end and effectively giving you a discount relative to the sum of the two items. Hope that makes sense! -
1. Gerry Davis Apex leg guards, size 16.5. Purchased here: https://davisofficials.com/products/apex-shin-guards?variant=52353831797103 New condition, never used, just tried on and going to stick with my smaller Force3 (which these are very similar to). Missed the 30-day return window and store credit seems like a bad idea for me. $85 SOLD Leg guards sold and now I still need to liquidate some masksets (assets?). I talked myself into the Gerry Davis pad system over the offseason but I'm not sure it's for me. As stock allows I'll just price everything individually and let any interested buyers shop a la carte. Please add $10 for shipping regardless of order size (combine and save!). Mask frames Plus-pos Zro-G, black, with +Pos harness. $20 Wilson dyna-lite frame, Mask-It powdercoated titanium color, with wilson harness. $60 Two Under Armour frames that I picked up really cheap on closeout. $10 each. Pads Gerry Davis socks, mesh, one grey outer, one black outer. $20 each. Gerry Davis shear3 core. Used 1 game (cold, no sweating, no impacts :)) $50 Gerry Davis cloud4 core. Like new, installed but never worn. $30 Plus-pos pads, black. Lightly used. $20 Other Plus-pos visor, $5 photos of all of the above: https://imgur.com/a/masks-dGwqrzJ

To add to @greenboy11's response, it looks to me that both (2) and (3) are both intended for catchers rather than umpires and have a longer brim (though in my experience they would likely work with most traditional masks with a traditional profile (not the FM4000(mag))). It appears to me that (3) is an updated version of (2) with removable, washable padding. (2) is closer to what I used in my playing days, and I found it perfectly comfortable at the time.

I had a catcher ask me for the count after the third pitch of nearly every at bat in a JV game last night. I shouldn't speculate on patterns amongst the next generation but...it is tempting. I thought about asking him what math class he was in. -
Ok, I found myself thinking about this the other day while I was getting ready for my game as well. I lace the shoes under the protection plate up to the reinforced tab on the tongue, then up through the eyelets on the plate, then across to the topmost eyelets at the ankles, then tie at the ankle. I tried lacing them all the way up, then back down through the eyelets on the tongue, but it put the laces more in the way. Is this what others do as well?

Others have more experience but I have worn a lot of catcher's chest protectors, so I'll chime in here. It's hard to tell from the video but it looks like you have a lot of adjustment to go, particularly on the lower two straps. From the video it looks to me like most of what you describe as the falling away from your body is actually not at the collarbone area but the bottom of the chest protector wanting to swing freely. I would start by tightening the lower straps -- then you will get a tighter fit without tightening the top straps too much to fit over your head. If that doesn't work, I'm a big fan of the All-Star Delta Flex harness (again, from my playing days). You can go to Play It Again Sports and pick up a used All-Star (or Under Armour) catcher's chest protector to cannibalize the harness for like $20 if you don't want to buy one new. It's the original version of this type of neoprene harness that Wilson, etc. have made their own versions of. I'd be surprised if you can't get a good fit with enough tweaking, the neoprene harnesses work really well (and I say this as a thinner person who is used to cinching down equipment straps as much as possible).

FWIW, saw a balk called immediately by multiple umpires on a pickoff throw to F3 playing behind the runner in an NCAA game the other day as well.

lol thank you @SeeingEyeDog. Nothing reading about slide rules can’t fix I hate how much taking the advice of not using screens right before bed actually works

Ok, possibly a stupid question...I'd like to get a paper copy fed rulebook and a CCA manual for reference/bedtime reading. Referee.com has the CCA manual but I only see the "Simplified and Illustrated" NFHS rulebook there. Do people like this "simplified and illustrated" version or should I order the regular version on the NFHS site?
