  1. Is this only for the all black, or do the white qualify also? I won't order the all black, so just curious.
  2. Normally, if there's a possibility of an actual play (not just some irrelevant attempt), then I bust inside to about the base path and turn to see the play. Not entirely into the infield, but still in the dirt. This has worked best for me. There may be an actual mechanic for this, but I have never heard of it. I think it's more of a working preference and opinion.

    Play I saw

Any coach that would not argue their runner being called out because he was PUSHED into a live, batted ball, is lying. You mean to tell me that if someone pushed one of your players into (essentially) an out, you would just sit back and be content with the call? I don't believe that for a second. Sorry!

    Play I saw

Regardless what your interpretation is (INT or OBS), you CANNOT let this play out as a "that's nothing" case. Simply because the BR made initial contact with a live, batted ball in fair territory, prior to the ball passing a base/fielder (you know, satisfying all the good rules and things that make it important). There is no way to avoid this. And if you just try to take the easy way out by saying you didn't see the contact (when everyone in the park did), you are just opening the door for one of the most criticized games of your career; which may actually be deserved after this lie. I'm going with OBS in this case. I cannot see calling INT on the BR when the contact was made by F2 from behind. Now, if there were no contact with the ball by the BR, and everything else still happened, I could see letting this situation go as one of those "that's nothing" things.

    Play I saw

I can't see justifying an interference call if the runners back is to the play and the F2 touches him. Now if they're side by side, I'm ok with it. But if he is ahead of the catcher and running toward first base like he should be and the catcher pushes him in the back, I'm not calling interference there.

    Play I saw

If F2 made contact with the runner's back, how do you have INT on the runner? I don't see how the runner could have done anything to avoid someone making contact with him that he could not see (behind his back). I agree with UMP45 on this one, HTBT definitely. I can't see letting them play on though, as the runner did make contact with the ball. I don't think it's really possible to avoid calling anything if that clearly happens. I probably get F2 for obstructing the play, or try to sell the hell out of a foul ball! :angel4:
  7. I currently have the Reebok Zigs, but was just interested in checking out the new Nike shoes also. I have several pair of Nike shoes, and have no problem with any of them concerning width or anything.
  8. The NFL referees have been wearing Nike shoes. I can't find Nike shoes on any of the gear websites.
  9. Does anyone know where I could find these shoes? I've seen them on the field, and am interested in looking into these and seeing if I like them. Looking for a new pair of base shoes, and considering these if I like them. Just can't find them anywhere online.
  10. Well, I didn't send a picture because I figured you guys would know what the poly wools looked like lol
  11. All three have been sold.
  12. I have a few things I'm looking to get rid of. Poly wool base pants, size 40. Length is about 30" with about 4-6 inches to be let out to increase the length. Have only been worn maybe 4-5 times. Like new. Black and white plate jacket, cut for the plate with a pocket on the left chest. Normal sized stripes. Size large. Has probably only been worn 3-4 times. Black and white base jacket with the more narrow white stripes. Size large. Probably been worn 8-10 times. If you need a picture of any of it, let me know. Make me an offer and we'll see if we can get something going.
  13. He's also selling his Wilson Gold "Chin" guards. I wonder how effective those are haha sorry, had to point that out.

    Protest

Have never seen a protest in a major league game, but the Angels vs White Sox game last night was protested in the first inning for a situation involving a no-call involving the 45' mark. Anyone see this? Thought it was interesting, and curious as to how the protest turned out.
  15. Depending on how the contact went, could you potentially have something for another member of the offensive team assisting a base runner?

    Force out

I think that's probably what you meant. I sure hope so because that confused me pretty good!

    smitty

It is generally used to describe someone who does something that is pretty much taboo. For example, wearing ball bags while calling the bases, wearing your cap backwards while working the plate, having one of those terrible ball bags with the pouches on the outside for your indicator and brush, wearing steel toe boots instead of plate shoes, things like this. Get where I'm going?
  18. Why are people cleaning bases? Are they frequently moving throughout the game and hard to find? Hell, we all know that our calls are based on whether or not the ball beat the runner. We don't care if the runner was actually on the bag or not, right? lol
  19. I don't know why, but I have thought about it several times over the last couple years. Maybe just because the guy literally walked to second base and it just didn't look good at all, not from anyone's perspective. His own coach was even hollering at him. I've always felt like I made the right call, but I guess there's been that small percent of doubt in the back of my mind.
  20. With the recent obstruction question that has been posted under the guests section, I have a question of my own. A couple years ago I was calling a playoff game, I'm U1, outs irrelevant, R1, FED. Pitcher picks to first, R1 dives back, errant throw and F3 kind of makes a stab at it and somewhat collides/lands on R1. Well, I wasn't calling anything with that, as I felt this was just incidental and neither person was in the wrong. However, as R1 and F3 both went to get up, F3 pressed off of R1 in a manner that it appeared he pressed him back to the ground. I called obstruction and signaled it immediately after seeing this. I'm right there on top of it, so R1 heard me clearly and just slowly stands up and walks to second. I know this isn't a dead ball, but it really aggravated me that the kid just walked to second. I guess it didn't really matter how he got there, but should/could I have done anything differently as to ensure he actually ran to the next base? He would have made it without the obstruction, and likely would have still made it even with the obstruction had he been running. Is this something I could just chalk up to his own fault as to possibly costing himself third base had he attempted and it actually been close (assuming I would have awarded him third in this scenario)?
  21. This speaking of the helmet not being hot is coming from people all over the northern part of North America (for the most part). Try wearing one down here in Louisiana heat. 102 degrees, 100% humidity. It's all dry heat. You step outside, and within 3 minutes you are soaking wet in sweat, and you haven't even done anything yet. I'm sure the helmet has it's advantages, but you will not convince me to wear one in this awful Louisiana heat. Sorry!
  22. I'm not that hungry. Lol Fine! I'll send you $20 for shipping as well...
  23. That's awesome! Send him our congratulations, please!
  24. All I read in that was "BLAH BLAH BLAH...I'll trade your a Nike mask for some good cajun food...BLAH BLAH BLAH...even swap...BLAH BLAH BLAH" haha
  25. there $400 and 20 pounds of boudin See, we have the REAL stuff down here, so boudin is worth it's weight in gold. I could probably send you enough Southern food you would forget about how much that mask cost and just be thanking me every other day haha
