article says season not post season, so i would assume none, but if word season includes post season we basically only have one more list to look at for a chance

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2026/07/05/jacob-misiorowski-all-star-game-brewers-rain-mlb/90805897007/

so to be fair, who on the major, mid major and low major Collegiate umpire conferences next year with a list, can we guess on how many will be working post season, or and a list of High Schools in each state with a list to chose from that to be guessing they will be working post season, or liitle league with a list to guess from that will be working post season.

and could we get a list of those to guess from that will be new MLBU crew chiefs next year.

and

guess which ones of the below will get the new 7 jobs on the staff next year

but i imagine from this old 2004 contract in which the categories have still pretty much stayed the same, just the amount of money has changed over time, they are still receiving that $23,000 bonus, as long as the playoffs are played, and maybe/probably more after 22 years and 5 contracts later, with an negotiated enhanced pension 22 years later now, and an enhanced severance since 2004.

and after a year off, bill miller will be in the mix for an LCS but not the WS and a tie with a couple more recent umps with 6 WS

and will A.M. join the more recent MLBU group with 6 WS since he has a DS right now and his last WS was in 2023 and will he be able to tie Al Barlick with 7 or even get more before retirement, or will they let the other CCs get a 2nd or 3rd WS.

could Blaser get a WS this year and then a CC next year

My guesses are: Bacon, Ballou, Jimenez, Thomas, Jean, Austin Jones, and Metz. I’ve heard that 200 games is an important call up milestone. Bacon is a tough call (he was up for a lot of 2025 and not as much in 2026) but why keep him hanging around? And he’s older. I do think that Jaschinski, Parra, Tyler Jones, Traynor, and Pawol will be part of a future wave of new hires. I don’t see how they release Pawol.

i would say anyone at all getting a recommendations from Ted Barrett, Paul Nauert and Marvin Hudson in which Pawol did get from all 3, along with others getting the 3's recommendations over the years, would have a very very very good chance of getting a very very very good look throughout their career path of possibly becoming a MLBU candidate or future MLBU. articles below if they are not paywall???

https://www.nfhs.org/stories/it-all-started-here-jen-pawol.

article that mentions Nauert, and Hudson too

https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2024/02/nj-women-set-to-work-spring-training-on-verge-of-breaking-mlb-umpire-gender-barrier.html

so, is that 200 games the breakpoint i have been asking about for years, of getting a full 2 years service credit as a MLBU?? (as per the amount in the MLBU CBO which would have been bargained for).

A young MLB umpire told me (recent new hire) that 200 game mark as a call up is kinda when they know and aren’t surprised. Obviously with something like this wave of retirements, there will be people hired with less than 200. Who knows?😂😀 A Traynor hire now wouldn’t be surprising since he jumped so much in MiLB but who knows how these decisions are actually being made?

I'm biased from having met him multiple times and knowing a lot of folks that are close to him and his family (father is an umpire too) but I'm optimistic Traitor will get it. His bosses seem to like him. Was told that TPTB were working hard to get Traynor to magical 200 games (as @Marcus6 referenced).

My gut says Bacon would have gotten it if he was ever going to but we'll see. It may well be an up or out offseason for him.

Not sure they'd ben setting Pawol up for success if they promote her now.
