I've found it better to use a sharp kitchen knife that will slide along the plastic to cut the stitches without hacking thru the pad. Box cutter or anything with a thick handle and short blade can make it difficult to cut just the thread. 1 Quote

I also had Michael from UmpGuard (Umpiresrock74) install new padding...which has been an awesome investment. Lowered the profile a bit - excellent protection. Also updated to a newer UmpLife harness.
