Anybody done any business with Honigs lately?

Was looking for some more state association caps so decided to send Honigs an email to ask about cap models, sizes and what they have in stock.  Found it interesting they dont appear to have working phones and told me someone would call me.  Thought this was odd.  A business without a phone number you can call?

 

Anybody done any recent business with Honigs or have any other experience?

 

EDIT: a google search and digging through their website reveals a 800 number.  Maybe they are trying to provide great service and offering to call me????

I have not but partners I've worked with say that they are slow, & their customer service is not great.

I almost placed one today, but then it was going to be $17.99 shipping on an almost $200 order so I passed.  How do companies hope to survive by charging shipping fees when others are free after $99-129 orders?  

Ump-Attire is cheaper, faster and offers free returns which makes it hard to shop anywhere else. Further, they have most items in-stock while others are very low.  The only issue is some state items (OHSAA) cannot be bought at Ump-Attire, so we have to keep dealing with other companies as well.

I do like Purchase Officials as well.  I never have to wait more than 2-3 days max for in-stock items, but then I'm 2 hours away from their OH headquarters.

UA is the gold standard for many reasons.  And Ive tried them all.  Still miss the quality and choices of Honig's back in the day (15+ years ago now).

Remember when there were a ton of choices for something like plate shoes? New Balance, Reebok, + POS (Made in USA), Davis regular leather and then patent leather (made in USA), Spot Bilt, Riddell (I recall an old Riddell plate shoe 20 years ago or so), and Honig's private label offerings.  Those were the days.

I don't care if it's all digital or not, companies need NEED to have a phone number in which you can reach someone HUMAN on the other end that you can actually talk to.

More and more companies seem to think that if they have an automated system that every single option is available, and every customer's every single customers issue is different in one way or another so automated systems for me don't work.
