It seems your really excited about umpiring and that's great. Keep that level of excitement and desire to learn and improve and you will enjoy this for years. Keep learning and open to new thoughts and ideas. Umpiring is a dynamic role which with new mechanics rules and more you need to keep on top of. Once you become complacent or think you know it all it will be time to hang it up.

A little more about myself. Overall it's my 3rd year umpiring. Didn't play much ball when I was a kid. My brother in law started umpiring, one day I just decided to go out there with him and I like it a lot so far.

Only have had one regular season game, I should have 2 or 3 so far but they keep getting canceled. I'm surprised I'm handling getting hit as quickly as I have. I've always been a wuss. But been hit in the mask a few times so far and I didn't move at all. But to be fair, one of the shots was where the eye hole is but on my right side so I didn't even see it hit me. I was surprised, I felt nothing at all.

I have only umpired one game higher than LL Majors and that was a Junior League game just for the experience. Of course that was last year so I was a BU.

I don't think I will ever take it beyond a hobby. But I hope to maybe umpire more games to the high school level.
