Very good condition umpire mask frames. Both are very lightweight. Blue is aluminum by Diamond. Grey frame is +POS but not sure of the material, but it’s as light or lighter than the Diamond.  Blue is used but grey is new old stock. One place vinyl started to peel on grey was fixed with clear tape (see last pic).

Both sets of pads are All Star Magnesium pads ($45 each) and have the new plates in the bottom pad for additional protection. Blue have maybe 4-5 games on them but grey are brand new.

Your choice for $75 shipped to you - or - take both for $125 shipped to you in the continental USA 🇺🇸

Please message me with any questions.

Thanks for looking!

The black mask outfitted with grey LUC-MAGs and a sun visor… is a Nike Teardrop, ain’t it?

Yes. I think they look a lot like the Mizuno 2qa-121's if you chop the fixed TG, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I have a hunch that Nike contracted the same factory that produces those Mizuno models to make the Teardrop. We have to remember – the Teardrop and the Icon are two distinctly different mask models, and share no traits that put them in the same family other than having a Nike SKU.

Unlike its step-sibling the Icon, the Teardrop does have forward rake on its chin guard so as to accommodate a dangling throat guard, and I’d argue that the pointed shape of the chin guard in fact encourages a throat guard to be attached without blatantly saying so… such as if it was absent.

Why’s that? Well, what catcher wants a mask that lacks a chin guard and compels him to get a dangling throat guard? Nobody.

....any input on that one ???

She’s a bonded Magnesium Tube mask, AKA the +POS MAG-T.

She’s the first of her kind, but completely misunderstood. Weighs nothing. Won’t bend, but will come apart if hit hard enough because it’s bonded (industrial epoxy) not welded. If any look off-kilter, it’s because the bonds slid or shifted while the mask frame was curing, or a particular tube was shorter than the rest of the batch, didn’t fit the mold ~quite~ right, and the factory just stuck ‘em together anyway.

Due to her novelty, the “Mag-ty” was relatively high-priced (≈ $100) when compared to its chief rival, the enigmatic Diamond iX3 Aluminum (≈ $65 at that time). Champro doesn’t know how to market masks; and, we all know +POS has a fatal flaw in customer service & order fulfillment. As such, there were underwhelming sales numbers, and the heads of the two vendors  didn’t renew the orders to continue the line.

The tell-tale sign is the “right-angled” bullring-&-wicket in contrast to the typical arched, or hooped, pieces on other masks. This was done to maximize the contact surface area and increase the strength of the bond.

*Sigh* What could have been.
