6 man foul coverage

Watching the SEC championship game. Noticed on shots down the RF line U1 is turning and setting up on the line for the fair/foul even though he has RF behind him. I thought on 6 man, all balls to the outfield are the responsibility of the line umps.

I'd imagine it's under the "always better to have a another pair of eyes" on it. Not much responsibility U1 would have besides touches by B/R or retag by R1

Pickoff attempts by the pitcher might be something U1 would have a look at, too.

No, in general.

U1 has the ball until it reaches the RF umpire. Not sure if that answers all or part of this.
