Can any of you guys help guide me on which pants to purchase from Honigs? The phone guy from honigs told me that the last pairs listed are polywool, but the listing isn't great.

These:

These

Or both of these:

Whats wrong with the new honigs Polywools, I need to buy a new set in the near future. Got a set of polywools that are about 2 years old and love them

Two of them are listed as heather gray, and doesn't say whether the second one is for the plate, bases or combo. All of them are listed as 100% polyester. Seems like there are some errors with the listings and/or the guy's knowledge. In either case, it's no secret Honig's site went from bad to worse when they updated it. Is your heart set on Honig's as a vendor? You may have better luck (and info) with someone else.

I asked Honig's what the difference was between the new and old Poly/wools and they informed me that the ones they were phasing out were a heavier fabric.  Other than the weight of the material they are the same pants.  I have had issues with the last pair of Honig's pants pilling up and have purchased a fabric defuzzer to take care of the issue.  Not sure why everybody else has piled on about the quality of the slacks. Other than the pilling I have had no issues.

Not set on honig's but they had low rise women's and only come in Heather (I'd prefer charcoal). The only other pants I've seen are the Smitty's (horrible!) and the Fleishmans (sp?). The Fleishmans look weird and I believe are true waisted, which is way too high. If you've seen others, I'm very open to suggestion. I have to order by Saturday as my season starts next weekend.

The base pants fit much tighter in the crotch/thighs than the old version. The plate pants aren't bad, but it seems like the leg openings are more tapered where they were more straight before. I just know I like my old polywools much better than the new ones.

So first game of the season and I don't thing the emergency pants are going to work out. They'll work until I can order some. Ugh. cba8238edf143a7186e63ac9259fcc46.jpg

Glad I've only got a plate or two this week, they'll work for the field.

Are these Honig's?  Mine don't fit any where near like these do.

No, they are emergency "whatever I could find in gray cause UIC dropped a bunch of early games" pants and they look ridiculous. Thank goodness it was a scrimmage with coaches I knew petty well. I'm going to have to chance the honigs.

I've used Honig's exclusively for a while now.  My last pair of poly wools actually kind of get pills on them so I've had to use a defuzzer to take care of that.  Fabric still feels good. I had purchased Smitty poly wools, had them tailored and then washed them and air dried them.  They shrank. So I went back to the tilor to get the hem lowered and he copped an attitude with me. Now I didn't blame them and told them I was willing to pay for their services, but he was defensive about it. I even told them I wasn't blaming him. WTF, huh?

I actually wash and air dry my Honig's and have dried them in a dryer on numerous occasions when I didn't have time to let them air dry.  They stay the same length.  They also hold a crease very good as I iron them before every game. Use a very good Rowenta iron.  Thing is heavy and does a great job.  My brother couldn't believe how much I paid for it until he used it.  Then he could see why.

How often do you wash them? How long do they take to dry while hanging? Once the season goes into full gear I work 7 nights a week so I'll have to plan out what gets done or worn when. I'll have to have at least one pair of combos since there is no changing on tourney days and most times there isn't anywhere to change.

if you have the older, prior to 2015, Honig's PWs, just buy Wool-lite and wash on delicate.  Tumble dry on no heat if you, low heat if not and then hang.  That's how I wash mine, but honestly, I only wash mine about 10 to 15 times a year at the most.

I'd be buying new, sadly.

I wash them on perm press in cold water.  I live in the desert and it only takes a few hours to hang dry.  If it is a dusty field I wash them every time I wear them. If it's a good field I just hang them back up.
