Anyone out there use a Go Pro?

I am thinking of investing in a Go Pro and have thought about the Hero Session model.  I was wondering if anyone had this model or perhaps the Hero 4 and some internal mounting options versus external.  Thanks.

I have used the external mounts.   I have the 3+ black.  Not on my mask, but I've used the chest mount on the bases.  

The session just came down $200 in price which brings in a much better price point, yet still very expensive.  

For plate mechanics (seeing pitches), I feel like the ideal spot for a camera would be on the catcher because the camera seems to sit too high on the plate umpire...even the camera they used at CWS was cool, but I'm not sure what one would gain (other than a cool game perspective) from a mount that high.   Then once the mask comes up you're upside down.

I don't know if it would work for what you're looking to do, however, there is a product you can use to have it on then fence behind you.  I realize for some venues the fence will likely be too far behind you to use it.

I would love side cameras for height so I can see how I'm doing, especially on the bottom of the zone.  Can I get more?  Am I grabbing too low, etc.  Straight back doesn't help me much unless the height of the camera is raised quite a bit.

If mounted to the fence, we highly suggest the Hero 4 Silver GoPro.  This is the device that has the included LCD; much easier to quickly setup the camera on the fence.  The quality is second only to the Hero 4 Black (which in our opinion, is too much camera for recording games).   However, if mounting to your body, the Hero Session is a more preferable camera.  Just note that the Session is slightly lesser quality than the 4 Silver and as some fewer features.  If on a deep backstop, the Hero 4 Silver change be changed to a "Narrow" field of view.  This will bring the action closer to the camera.

What camera took picture three in your post above?

Sorry, not really sure which picture is #3 above.  The shot of our bracket on the net was taken from just a cheap Nikon DSLR.  The still shot of the game video compilation was a screen shot from the YouTube video.  And in the video, the primary is a Hero 4 Silver.  The Picture in Picture (side view) camera was a Hero 3 Black.
