What is the proper mechanic for signaling that a runner is out for being out of the basepath?

Regular ol' out mechanic.  The "hammer" is typical.

A sweeping motion just like off the bag.

That's what I use.

I look for it on every rundown: it's the best way to end a rundown!

Remember: the ball is live after this infraction, and the defense may play on other runners.
