HP Umpire Tim Timmons ejected Braves 1B Freddie Freeman and Manager Fredi Gonzalez for arguing a strike three call in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Nationals-Braves game. With two out and one on, Freeman took a 3-2 curveball from Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg for a called third strike....

Quick hook my ass!  That's an auto-eject after a called strike.

Pieces of the shattered bat lay a few feet from Timmons and people accuse him of having a quick hook. Amazing.

 

Rich has it exactly right in his comment on the UEFL site.

Its quick in my book because I would rather point to the broken bat and tell him "pick that up"  If he doesn't, then its the hook.

No it's not a quick hook. If someone shatters the bat like that in my game they're going into orbit.
