First varsity plate

[th3]

Today was my 1st regular season varsity plate - on opening day on the 1st nice day of the year. 2 solid teams, good pitching...made the plays...beautiful brand new field..great partner...2-1 home team in 1:30 with no issues...maybe they will all be that way!

Congrats!

Nicely done! If only the rest of the season goes that smoothly now! ;-)

Well, you clearly weren't my partner today. He managed to take a routine mercy game that was 13-3 after 3 and turn it into a 3-hour marathon by shrinking his strike zone starting in the 4th. Ugh.

But congrats on your first varsity plate!

Congrats th3!

(Probably, you know now a little secret: it is easier --- and more fun --- to umpire when the pitchers and catchers are good.)

Congrats Paul. Had my 1st plate today also. (JV). It was great to get back on the field. Decent game and partner.

Congrats! I have always loved summer baseball in Iowa...but gosh, I want to get out there!
