13U League Play, Club teams.

R2 - 1 Out - I'm BU in C.

Ground ball to F6, R2 gets in a rundown between 2B/3B. I eventually bang him out as he dives back to 2B.

I then turn my head to locate the BR when I hear the distinct sound of plastic bouncing on the hard dirt. I look back and his helmet is on the ground near me.

Me: "Did you throw this???"

Kid: "Yeah"

Me: "You're gone"

I find out later as I am doing all this, my partner was coming out toward me getting ready to EJ him as well since he saw the helmet thrown.

Pretty cut and dried!

Not a word other than apologies from both coaches.....

Lala, your profile photo reminds me of this little tale: disgruntled with a call, a player throws his bat up in the air. The umpire says, "Son, if that bat comes down, you're gone."

Well, since this was commented on recently, I'm just seeing it. KLAH316 is it really necessary to turn and locate BR? And I ask this question as one who used to do this a lot, but am realizing I don't think I should. F6 (or F4 or F3 probably) have the ball. Take a few steps back and towards the center of the mound. Nothing is happening without the ball, right? I'm finding I think this is a better approach and allows you to see the kid spike his helmet. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
