Do many of you that do high school varsity games have conferences that do the JV/Varsity double headers?? One of the local conferences did all their games that way last season. Not sure about this year, but due to rising costs, I figure more schools may do that this year to cut down on travel costs.

ncump,

In my area (Chicago suburbs) that is fairly standard for Saturday games & Spring Break week, very unusual for regular weekday games.

Just about every school in my area (43 hs) has (have?)2 fields for baseball and softball. Games are scheduled so that there are 4 games going on at the same time at the host field...VB JVB VS JVS.

If both schools have frosh teams, those games take place at the visiting V team field in both sports.

Michael..

That is the way we have done in the past until 2 yrs ago when one conference made the switch. All other conferences have JV and Varsity playing on same date at different sites.

In our conference they trade schools. The varsity is home at one school while the JV is visitors at the other school.

That's usually how it goes here on LI, too.

That's how Michigan rolls. Even during the week.

Ive got a little mix of both.....like MST.....Most of mine are the Varsity is at home, the JV will play away at the site of the opponent.

Some of the smaller schools do varsity first then JV following...early in the season we used to only get 4 JV innings in before it got dark.

The varsity high school team that's visiting has their jv team hosting the other team's jv squad that day. This also applies for other sports that are being played that day. I was told this was done for busing efficiency.B)
