What is the best way to use your eyes on a tag play? I feel like I usually look at the edge of the bag. I am thinking here especially of steals of 2nd and 3rd and plays at the plate on a passed ball/wild pitch.

Let the ball (or glove with the ball in it) take you to the play.  Focusing on a specific object...or anything other than the ball, for that matter, will cause the play to explode on you.

Like MAU states, ball to glove, glove to tag. Looking at anything else and you are asking for major trouble. If the ball never makes the glove what are you going to do, continue to stare at the base?

On plays at the plate on a passed ball, focus on the front edge of the plate if you can. If the foot or the hand gets there before the ball/tag, he's safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
