So I need to add to my collection of shirts desperately.  Currently I only have 2 navy blue and 2 powder blue (both with the softball striping).  The only place I know that I can go into the store and purchase them here in St. Louis they generally run $30-$35 per shirt, and they have a very limited assortment.  It seems like the most popular shirts out here are the black, MLB blue, and cream.  I looked on ebay but am very reluctant to buy umpire shirts that I cannot feel the material.  The two powder blue shirts I have are a very heavy material that I do not like.

On ebay I saw some Smitty comfortTech 100 shirts for $19.99 plus S &H.  Does anyone have any comment on the material of these.  I also saw a 4-pack from West Coast Umpire Apparel for $65.49.  Here is the link to that auction

Any thoughts or suggestions.  I don't want to drop a ton of money on shirts, especially if they aren't the material I'm looking for.

SMitty's are good shirts.

As far as the auction. Looks like a good deal but I never heard of that brand.

OC had a sale on shirts this last weekend maybe they still do. I like their shirts.

Search the equipment forum - you will find lots of info on Smitty (and other brand) shirts.

I have Ump-Attire Ultimates, Smitty, Dalco, Honigs and +POS shirts (probably 20+ total in all), the Smitty probably get worn the most (I have the most of them) but the +POS shirts are my favorites.

Lots of guys here wear Smitty shirts. The fabric is pretty thick in comparison to other shirts but IMO they breathe well.

I have and like Smitty, Ump-Attire Ultimates, and the newer Honig's Pro-Soft material (I did not like the older Honigs fabric)

The U-A's are my favorite, but they have had some issues getting them stocked in any color except softball blue, black, and navy (plus the sizes have been limited).

This is the first year I have worn the the new Honig's shirts and I really like them. Very similar to the U-A ultimates. I love the way the fabric feels. They feel a bit nicer to me than the Smitty shirts. But they do cost a little more as well, so there is a trade off.

I don't think you can go wrong with any other the three.

If the guy on e-bay that you found selling the Smitty shirts is diner30 he is great to work with. He is somehow affiliated with Purchase Officials Supply. I have ordered Smitty shirts from him in the past with no problems. I think that is the price I paid as well. My favorite Smitty shirts are the long sleeve ones for cold weather games. They are the best LS shirts IMHO.

Only buy OC is you like your light blue buttons to turn pink.  They are super light weight for warm weather but poorly crafted.

Smittys is my brand of choice from Ump Attire usually.

I dont understand why anyone buys any shirts from OC. A lot of the guys in my tournament assosication buy them and wear them. The color patterns dont match any of the other brands of shirts at all. Many of the guys who do buy them say that they are much cheaper than shopping somewhere else. I look at the OC website every once and while and their shirts are always priced at like $28.00 bucks. For that amount of money you could buy a much nicer shirt from either Honigs or UA. After reading this post I asked one of my buddies who will buy stuff from OC. He said that their customer service is awful too as well as only being able to find shirts in either XS or XXXXL. I am not trying to bash the OC stuff I just dont see why so many people buy from them.

Well I did order from them today.  I got one black shirt, and then a couple of ball bags and some basketball accessories, all for $20 including shipping.  Now I will say that I have not seen the shirt yet, but one of the tournament organizers I work with is not very particular about what you wear.  So I figure I can use it for those games, and at $7.00 is has to be worth it.

Notice that when you go to the OC website is says "Happy Thanksgiving!"

That should say it all.

The IT guy is on vacations since last Thanksgiving.  They need to hire Rolo as their new IT guy.

Been wearing OC and none of my buttons have changed colors

I completely agree with OC's cheapo thin shirts, with the ever changing button colors.

However, they finally started to get it right with the new pro style shirts. The fabric was great, and they had a wide variety of colors, and were a quality shirt. Every time they had a 10 dollar sale, I would pick up 2 in whatever color was on sale. (excluding the camo and flag shirts-won't wear them).

Now it looks like he's getting out of the business. He only has XS or XXXXXXXXXXL in any of the shirts anyone would want. It's too bad, because they really were starting to put out a better product.
