This is directed to the pro school guys but will take all others. R3, R2 and both break. They start a pickle with R2 then throws over to F2 on R3. Does the PU take the whole pickle on the third side to leave the BU the other runner, or should the BU take the third base end of the R3 rundown and do the best he can if they restart the first pickle?

PU takes 3B rundown. BU can cheat a little toward 3B but that is not his primary concern. His main concern will be if they throw back to 2B for some reason. Such as, R2 is off the base when R3 is tagged out. BU needs to be in position to make that call the best he can. This would be the same for R1, R3.

I don't have the manuals with me now to verify. This is one of the many short comings of a 2 man system.

Once it becomes a rundown PU has it all. BU takes R2. If R2 advances to 3B then BU can take half of that rundown. Remember its not a rundown until its a ...rundown :)

Pro school mechanics has BU take initial responsibilities for all rundowns. BU will have rundown with R2 while PU stays home. If a rundown occurs with R3, BU will come over and take that responsibilite. As R3 is going back to 3rd, PU can come up the line and let BU know he now has responsibility for the rundown by stating "I've got it all." BU then picks up R2. If R2 advances to 3rd during the rundown of R3, BU can then take responsibility for half of the rundown by stating "I've got this half."

Again, BU has all initial rundown responsibilities.

Let me explain the way it went down. R2 breaks, F2 throws to F6. They start the rundown, of course the wrong way. As he is going to third, R3 breaks for home. F6 throws back to F2. They run him back to third and get him out, R2 returns to second. I had to make the call because the PU never came up the line. I was taught in that situation, BU takes the trail runner, PU takes the lead runner.

In your situation and using the pro mechanics you asked for, PU stays at home and BU has it all until R3 goes back to 3rd. As R3 is going back, PU can then come up the line and establish a position in order to take the rundown if R3 changes direction again and heads home. When the PU is in position and the play comes to him, he can tell the BU that he "has it all" and let BU pick up R2 or tell BU that he "has this half". PU has no business going up the line, initially, in the event there is a play at the plate. It is highly likely that the PU will only be able to get his "half." If the rundown extends to mulitiple throws, 4+, the PU may be able to assume the entire rundown.

You are correct, I will fix it. I have to remember to proofread, including the topic line.
