There is am interactive display at the Baseball HOF that asks questions about old time baseball rules. I did pretty well.

If you get a chance attend one of the games put on by groups that use the old time rules (different groups use rules from different eras) and it will help you see why some of the rules today are why they are.  And you will be amazed (or at least I was) by the bats and balls.

I have watched several of the games. They are really fun to watch.
