... but we're takin' baseball from you, too.  You can keep basketball and lacrosse.

(Actually, if it weren't for FB, I'd never have known.  But once I found out, resistance was futile.)

VT took 2 from UVA yesterday. Congrats to you guys. UVA is a very young team and came out like gangbusters going as low as #4 in the polls but lately they have struggled a bit. I think the long season has taken a toll on some of their freshmen.

I finally got around to looking it up.  We're actually above .500 overall, which is somewhat shocking to me.  We're under in conference play, which, given the fact that a) ACC teams are all over the top 25, and b) we tend to suck at baseball, shocks me far less.

The Hokie radio announcer was saying these wins might of gotten Tech an NCAA bid.  Knowing Tech's luck, I think that is a bit of wishful thinking.

Again...Really? Don't they know UVA is the #5 team in the nation. Don't they know they just came 1 inning from sweeping UNC, the number 2 team in the nation, just last weekend......Unbelievable, and 10 to 1. :tantrum:

Well, you guys went to the Regionals as recently as 2010 and you had the 4th winingest coach in baseball until 2006, so it ain't that bad. A little thumping on the Wahoos never hurt. Besides if you get tire of working out on the drill field you can always go to the duck pond.

Well, I'm hoping UVA will make the championship game  so I can go to Durham Sunday  and watch them, it's the only day I can get down there. With that loss, it's gonna be hard now I think.

BTW, I think 2010 was the year they played for the national championship and lost.

Criminitly cb, VT has never played for the National Championship, although they might have gone far in 2010????

VT is in the Conference winners bracket just waiting for their next opponent after winning all 3 of their games. Looks like it will be either NC or NCS. Enjoy the game Sunday.

However, the only ACC (while they were playing in the ACC at the time that is) team that won the CWS should be near and dear to your heart. It was those Demon Deacons back in 1955. The Deacons were runner up in 49.

Looks like Big East's Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, and Notre Dame (except football and hockey) are moving into ACC country while Maryland goes up to the Big 10. Lots of changes to these league's.

Can anyone beat Vandy?? Look out for the SEC.

I was talking about UVA in 2010, don't confuse me with a VT fan. :D

However, I must congratulate VT, they are indeed playing for the ACC. championship today at 1:00. UNC will be there too after beating NC. State in a 18 inning marathon 2-1 last night. Do you think the umpires earned their money on that one. Hats off to them, I watched almost the entire game and they held their integrity throughout. No questionable " lets get this thing over with" calls at all. The plate umpire called the same zone for 18 innings. :notworthy:

Unbelievably, at least to me, in the bottom of the eighteenth with a 2-1 lead, NC. State had the tying run on 3rd with nobody out and the UNC coach was playing infield back. Basically he was going to concede the run and play on if State could get a ground ball. They were not able to do so however.
