I had the chance to meet Steve in Kansas City when my brother and I were there to watch the Red Sox and Royals duke it out.  

 

He was evaluating Jeff Nelson's crew at the time (I don't think he was crew chief) but he was on the dish so that's who I remember.  He also called a ball for the pitcher going to his mouth.

 

Anyway, Steve was working, yet still took the time to talk to me, a random stranger bugging him while he was working.  

 

Great conversation with what appears by all accounts, to be a great guy.
