BTW, Metallica...Best live show ever. Master of Puppets live was the longest I've head banged consecutively in my life... :rock

Black Stone Cherry - Best southern rock since Lynyrd Skynyrd (I'm talkin original now) and second best live show. The Drummer does half his 10 minute drum solo with his hands and or forehead!  :rock

Creed - Third best live show, but probably the best guitarist I've heard (also see Alter Bridge) Mark Tremonti is a beast  :rock

Metallica was good. Best pure heavy metal show I ever saw...Priest & Maiden circa '83.

Priest and Maiden paved the way for monster metal shows. Metallica brought Ozzy like energy to the game.....I still have some VHS tapes somewhere....

I've got the whole "Live Sh!t: Binge and Purge" box set. Sweet concerts. Just hunting a VCR is a pain....

Yup, got the Metallica set along with many others. My VCR is right next to my turn table over by my vinyl collection. In fact I see Kiss Alive II sitting on top!

would've have been great to see some of these groups live in their primes. They still put on great shows, but groups like Metallica back in the late 80's early 90's would've been face melting to see.

for a 3 man group, ZZ Top puts on a great show. Billy Gibbons can still play the strings off a guitar.

Classic Rock/Metal is why I got into guitar playing in the first place. Enter Sandman was the first song I learned beginning to end.

For a Trio, there's nothing better than Rush

There's no such thing really...

What are you talking about?  Rock, jazz, fusion, studio, pop, recording, hip-hop, metal, blues, R&B.....  see what I'm saying?

I could rattle off drummers you probably have never heard of....

Percussion is tough to quantify, kind of like Bass. A lot of it can be how much they contribute to the Show, IMHO

I can't put Lars in the top 5. Good drummer, but uses the same beat in almost every song. High energy? Yes. Better than Keith Moon? John Bonham? Bill Ward? That's a tough sale.

Bonham was probably the most gifted musically. I wouldn't put lars #1, but prob top 5 just because of what he brings to the band and the show
