+POS SUL200 Mask (or All Star version) Replacement Pads

A friend of mine is living and dying by this old resin mask. i do have to hand it to him, it is pretty darn strong. He bought it over ten years ago after seeing it in action . Former MLB umpire Eric Gregg was demonstrating its superior strength at a clinic near Philadelphia. Eric's words meant nothing compared to his actions.....he placed the mask on the floor of the stage and jumped on top of the mask as it was sitting face up on he floor. The mask held up and whoever was hawking masks at the equipment table that day made enough money selling them to probably retire.

Anyhow, the pads in his mask have seen it's last season.. Does any one know what pads would fit this old thing?

That said, hand your pal a new lightweight mask, and he'll forget about that plastic junk. They're as light, safer and give you a ton more visibility. No reason to wear that contraption any more, nor spend any money on it.

I had one of those years ago, and tried to jam conventional pads into it without any luck. Then I got a pretty nasty concussion behind it, and dumped it for good.

Good idea...I wonder since it is of resin / composite material if it will need a BBCOR label next year

When we have people e-mail in to customer service asking about this style of mask, we typically recommend that they discontinue using it.

The biggest reason is that these masks are older and the material used in these masks break down over time... especially if it is 10 years old. The mask is constructed using lots of little fibers which is one reason the mask is so strong. But on the flip side, each time those fibers are flexed, bent, stretched... they weaken. The mask may show no sign of weakness until one day, when the fibers can't take anymore abuse, it cracks.
