I liked it. He did a great job. Theatrical? Possibly, but when the ball came to rest, he did his job and did it well. Kudos to DI for #1 being there, #2 busting ass to get position, #3 "selling" the call.

Noone says anything about bangers at a bag when you crow hop and throw your shoulder out. Noone said Haller was over the top with the "Boom" toss. Dan was on point. :notworthy:

I thought the intense crouching at the end was a bit theatrical...it was a foot fair, not like you have to super-stare at it like a Florida recount judge staring at a hanging chad.

My chads hang to the left.....

Well, from where I sat, I saw nothing wrong with what Iassogna did. I've got to be honest, I'm not going to nit-pick his hustle, mechanics, or positioning simply because of the fact he's out there and I'm sitting in my living room watching him work the stick in Game 2 of the World Series. A place where every one of us would love to be. Who am I to point the emphatic finger (okay, bad pun...)? Once I've worked a World Series, then my thoughts might be different...maybe.

I don't think any of us are bashing what or how he did it...we post 99.99999% of stuff on here to learn.

Off of that stage, its likely to be evaluated as overkill in our amateur/non-world series games.

If I were working the stick in the world series, it's likely you'd see me doing the same thing.

With three players right around the ball, he may have been concerned with the ball getting some help into foul ground, I would be. Stick your face in there to say. I'm here don't try anything guys.

Yes Dan, there's a billion people watching you, .....and .....yes ....that's a fair ball. You see, no one touched it, and it's resting 'still' in fair territory....

Do you know how bad it will look if he just does a lazy point fair, I see more umpires get into trouble because they think cause they have been doing this, x amount of years they can half ass it.
