First HS Scrimmage

Had my first scrimmage today, it was nice to be out on the field again. We had 7 umpires assigned so we had lots of different 2-man crews. We were there for a bit over 2 hours, I got 3 full innings on the dish.

Learned a lot from the other umpires, hopefully I will get another scrimmage before the season starts on the 28th.

Got another one Tuesday, bonus is that it's the local HS which is less than 10 minutes from my office. Hopefully I can get some base work in this one.

Our scrimmages are next Saturday. In the one I am working, there are 3 plate umpires and 3 base umpires assigned. Not sure how long the scrimmage is supposed to go, so I am expecting 2-3 innings at the plate. Sincle I'm rookie in the association, all my games are solo this year (frosh/soph), so it will actually be a little different working with a partner. I lucked out and got a varsity scrimmage, however.
