I was doing a softball tournament this weekend and had the bases for a u10 game (it is what it is). There was a cute mom against the fence and as i glanced over at her she said "you pay attention to the game and stop looking at me"...She was talking to her daughter who was playing 2nd base!

Wow, a mom that was not trying to coach from the stands. All too often, they are trying to get their kid to do something while the coach has told them something else, and in the end, the kid is just confused.

I coached Girl's basketball for 6 years. Every season I had a parent meeting in the preseason. I always went over not coaching then girls. I tell that oftentimes you will be telling them to do something that I have told them not to do. It just puts the girls in the position of listening to their coach or their parent. I tell them to stick to general requests like "hustle", "box out", etc.
