.....and step out of the box at the same time, all while the pitcher's in his motion .....I woudln't have granted him time either ....and WHY IN THE HELL didn't Joyce toss him ????

I am not sure Joyce saw him slam the bat. He called the strike and started to move away from the plate. I didn't try to lip read Joyce but in this situation I have said," I'm sorry but I can't call time once he has started."

Joyce must have not seen it. No way he'd let a player do that.
