Been off Umpiring for a few weeks. Had our first field clinic of the year yesterday as well as referring 4 flag football games yesterday. Man my legs are sore! should have been doing some conditioning while I was off.

Overall the Clinic went well. I am working with a new association and kinda sucks having to prove myself all over again. Its all fun though. I am confident.

I took November off to recouperate...Been doing light conditioning since December in anticipation of the upcoming season. Plan on stepping it up in the next week or so. Nothing heavy, just more cardio with the dogs...

Started my program right after Christmas. 30 minutes a day on the jump rope and once I got back to Jacksonville daily work at the university gym. Except they tore down the gym. Apparently there's a new three-story fitness center going in to be completed fall 2012. Which is great but I'm gone this fall lol. Oh well.

I have walked before to stay in shape but this year I bit the bullet and decided to buy a Trek 4300 mountain bike. I made a deposit on it and it should get to my local bike shop in Evansville by the middle of next week. I'm just going to ride it on country roads near where I live but I was totally unimpressed with the junky light weight bikes they had at local stores like ****'s Sporting Goods and Target. I'm also getting a computer on it that will tell me how many miles I ride, how long I've rode it and the outside temperature.

I try to stay in shape year round, for the simple fact that we play year round here in California. But now that the season is about to get into full swing, I add an extra 30 minutes of stretching everyday. Also add 25 walking lunges and squats on to the end of my 3 mile run. And finally I start doing eye tracking exercises or run on a treadmill while watching games on tv. Past that my workout stay roughly the same.

I was doing so well until the weather turned cold.

I was running 5K 3 times a week and had lost a fair amount of weight. But I found it again especially the past few weeks. I need to get back with it. I was looking better, feeling better and was just healthier. My cholesterol and triglycerides were in check at my last doctors appt for the first time in a few years. All for just a 45 minute light jog. And that 45 minutes with just me and my MP3 player were the most relaxing 45 minutes of my day.
