A vs B

OK Playing Field

6th inning

Visitor A at bat

#10 called out on a close play at first.. He verbally objected to the call a couple of times and then proceeded to throw his helmet over the dug out fences into the park behind the field. At that point I informed #10 that he was ejected from the game.. No further action recomended.

That was the report. pretty vanilla, I expect the fact that A was the better team in the standings (9-2 vs 1-9) and B and that team B was in essence a seniors high school team playing in a low tier mens league and that B had taken a 4 run lead the previous inning, was a factor in the outburst. Didn't include any of that in the report, just an observation during the game. I was hoping for an ejection free season, and it was going sooooo well.... *sigh* Maybe next year.... perhaps a "post-concossive" shortened temper had played into this, but I have never tollerated blatant equipment tosses on the field.

It is not a failure of ours if we have to eject somebody over the course of the season. We deal with what we're given.

I pride myself on my game management skills. However, the 25 or so participants get their emotions involved. That can sometimes be a positive thing, but often times ends up with an adios amigo. I've done 160+ games this season, and had 1 ---- one jackass coach who didn't understand base awards on a thrown ball lodged in the backstop netting. Apparently because play had come to a natural stop he thought it should nullify the lodge. Nope. Run scores. Coach goes monkeys**t. I explained the rule and he said, and I quote, "That's total f***ing bulls**t!" I wish I would have thought to give him the Haller "BOOM" hook.
