I was wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem with their Rebook Plate Shoes.

This is the inside of the left shoe. It drags the ground and is tearing.

Do you think Reebok would do anything about it?

Thanks

I have bothe the old version and the new version. I don't have this problem on either version. Maybe this has somthing to do with how you have the meta plate laced up. Maybe it is sitting to low causing it to drag.

I contacted Reebok and they informed me that they have a 1 year warranty on the shoes. They said the best way to handle it is to go to the retailer where I bought them.

I bought them at Ump-Attire and they have been great. I have been talking to Anessa and she even researched when I bought them since i couldn't find my receipt. Very very helpful.

She is supposed to contact me tomorrow on how to proceed.

I'm preaching to the choir, but the service at Ump-Attire is unsurpassed. I had a problem with some heather gray pants that turned pink a few years ago and the retailer/manufacturer told me that it was not a product defect, but actually the cause was my particular body chemistry. In other words my sweat was the problem, not their pants! The retailer/manufacturer begrudgingly replaced the pants since I had them less than a year. It was around that time that I became interested in reviewing umpire equipment and apparel for my fellow umpires.

Good service is really underrated until there is an issue. Then it is very valuable indeed.

That may be a factor. Here are a couple of pictures, one with the plate laced "lower" on the shoe, and the other with the plate laced "higher" (the way I have always worn it).

Left is with the laces pulling the plate higher up, and right is with the laces lower so the plate sits lower.

I talked to Ump-Attire again and they are going to replace the shoes. Unfortunately they are out of stock till January. So in the meantime I get to keep the shoes as is until the season is over then I will send them in.

Hopefully the new ones will get here before I have to go to the Southern Camp in Feb.
