Please explain the benefits of applying scotch guard to the collars. Is the issue staining/pilling? Thanks.

It helps with the pilling. Another thing that helps is to hang them dry.

How are your Majestic shirt collars holding up using the Scotch Guard and hang dry process?

How often do you spray the collars? I read that Scotch Guard must be reapplied after every dry cleaning, but I can't figure out if its needed every (third, fifth, tenth, etc) time in a regular laundry cycle.

I guess I'll count the times washed. But I do it to each shirt every half-dozen or so times that I wash them. The shirts get rotated, but I almost wear nothing else.

The Scotchguard has definitely made a difference. Another Majestic that did not get treated is faded and pilled at the collar and sleeve trim areas. The results are definitely good using the Scotchguard method.

I have purchased a few Majestics that are still hanging in my closet. I've been a little reluctant to wear them after my last Majestic started pilling. I am also starting to question the Majestic shirt's total costs:

1. $15 for each shirt

2. $10 for a can of Scotch Guard

and I have to line dry the shirt.

I toss my Honig's/Smitty/Ump-Attire/Dalco/The Official's Choice/Gerry Davis/Cliff Keen shirts in the dryer and don't use any Scotch Guard. I have several fall baseball dates coming up, so I can start wearing the Majestics and caring for them using your recommended system.
