Third time this year.... opponent in Sr Connie Mack (19-35 yo) gets rung up on called third strike, draws a line in the dirt, and doesn't get tossed. Thought this was automatic. Home plate ump making it hard on all future arbiters. Can someone please help me see light?

Thanks,

Tim

Sounds like the PU needs to "see light" and not you. I haven't had this happen, but it will be an automatic dump if it ever does.

You see the light pretty good.

The PU may be blind as a bat though :D

Draw a line? Good Bye, if you like to draw lines please come back when the grounds crew is ready to line the field for the next game.

The best line I've heard on either this forum or another:

"If he draws a line, then you draw an arrow-pointed towards the parking lot!"

Almost had that tonight. Kid yelled it was right here, then dropped his bat head. My eyes had to be the size of dinner plates. He stopped and walked away. I said "Oh Catch, I was thinking I was going to get my first guy drawing a line!" Catch said "I don't know how he could draw a line following that ball. I don't think his bat would draw right down the middle of the plate" Good times.

Man I am jealous you are even calling a game this time a year. Another couple of weeks to go here before we start again.

Me too! But I view it as a well deserved break from the madness we call umpiring. :D
