Somebody needs to get Canadian baseball players some anger management training. It's like reading an EX-cop post.

I knew once I started reading this mess that some jerk involved would try to lay this at the feet of the umpires....

"Alain Fauteux, manager of the Valleyfield, Que., squad said problems between the two teams stem from a game they played that was suspended by fog on Monday and resumed on Tuesday.

Fauteux said the umpire stopped the game after batters from Saint John, which won the contest 10-9, had the benefit of an extra inning.

"The situation is probably because the umpire … changed the tournament for my team," he said. "We practised all summer long to come here … and now one guy changed the game."

so suspending a previous game due to fog caused all these trash talking rioters to do this...

please......

I'd just like to point out that Canada is a very big place and just because there is an incident in one area doesn't mean the entire country is out of control. Just most of it...at times.

And to be honest, a lot of the problems here can be pinned on the umpires.

Remember that fight I had in a high school (remember, that's the equivilent to glorified house league here) game back in May? Totally preventable - PU should've dumped the instigator in the third inning.

Same with the bench brawl I had on Sunday...my base game...PU should've dumped (again) the instigator on the play previous. He doesn't, and the same moron throws an elbow to the head of a member of the opposition, and away we go.

And the quad bingo night my partner and I had when I dumped the guy for flipping off fans...we had lost all control of the game at that point because my partner, PU, was being a doormat.

And what if that player from my brother's team had charged the mound after being plunked for the 4th time in one game (after being thrown behind, but ducking balls 3 and 4, the at bat prior), and waiting for PU to at least warn someone, let alone dump them, but that not happening?

You see where I'm going with this...

They blamed the umpires because they suspended a game due to fog. What theydon't explain is how that allowed a team an extra inning. They didn't explain how game managment allowed the heckling to get to the point that they have a riot in the stands. They don't explain how the manager couldn't control his team well enough that they go in the stands to fight.

Does he think that his team is the first to be very well prepared but didn't win the big game?

The incident happened after a game in which Saint John had just finished. Quebec was in the stands the entire game taunting the team. The police were at one point called in to deal with the situation, however after they left it started up again.

It looks like both teams played 7 innings looking at the boxscore. http://www.leaguelineup.com/gamesum_baseball.asp?sid=842477999&GameID=9181930&url=championships

The most shocking thing to those south of the border is that no charges will result.
