2nd High School State Tournament selection

I don't want to toot my own horn, but guess I will, but, just got the call I've been selected to work our State baseball tournament. It's my second time.

Congrats. Does that mean a trip to M'Boro? I will be at the Lavergne High games working the gate at some point. My son plays for Lavergne and they will be hosting games the first 2 days.

Yes, going to Murfreesboro.

We still have about a month left, have to do Districts, Regions and Sectionals and I'm not sure of field or game assignments as of yet. When I went in 2009, I did work 2 or 3 games at Lavergne HS, all finals were at MTSU. It was awesome.

The most enjoyment I get really, is when the Districts start, we work 3-man all the way through the State, and work 6-man in the Finals.

Catsbackr have you gotten your game assignments? I was going to go Wednesday and catch a game or two. It will probably be the Single A games at Riverdale or the Division II games at Lavergne.

No, I'm leaving in about an hour to head to Murfreesboro. We don't get crew assignments or game assignments until we get there, after a 1:00 meeting with Gene.

I was at Riverdale last Friday and Farragut last Wednesday. If you're there come speak, please, the name is Ken Chase, old, gray headed guy!

It turns out, there had to be an IF game played, but it was great anyway.

I ended up working 8 games for the week. It's a little hard on a 55 year old, but I had a blast nonetheless.

I watched some of the live streams from the TSSAA network website. Great stuff. Hopefully I will get a shot in a few years at a state tourney.
