HS JV, had a bounding foul that bounced just outside the third base bag foul (and called foul by me). Head Coach (who is in the third base coaching box) walks over towards the line looking down, presumably (and was) looking for a mark from the ball. I start thinking "oh boy, here comes the $hit$torm." As I am getting ready to put the ball back in play (as he had moved away from the foul line) I hear "good call, good call." I was laughing inside, because I was all ready for an argument, and I had a coach agreeing with me after he saw a mark in the dirt.

Recent game...first inning, home pitcher starts off 3-0. He starts giving me the stinkeye, and I hear HC yell, "You've got to be kidding me!" I start to remove my mask to tell him to knock it off. Before I can, he continues, "We've been working on your control all week, and you still can't throw a F*#King strike!"

Since this was college, all I needed to do was laugh. No paperwork necessary.

For one, don't trust his "good call" as a sign that you were right. Secondly, what does the mark in the dirt mean? It's called by where it goes over the base, not where it hits the dirt.

I know I got it right since the ball passed just outside the bag, it was just when I saw him looking, I was thinking he was going to come crying with an argument and have him pointing to marks which means I would probably have to run him, just hearing him say good call was a little funny to me on a call that went against his team.
