So tonight is the night of Strasburg's debut for the Nats. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does. Just wondering how long he will go since he hasn't really stretched it too far with his starts in AA and AAA. Then again it is against the lowly Pirates, so it's not really all that big of a test for him. I'm sure he will live up to the hype, at least for his first couple of starts. His next scheduled start would be June 13 against the Indians at Jacob's Field.

Hope the Nats have fans who can afford to attend by next year and watch him.

He got a record $15.1M signing package and word is already out that Harper's "agent," none other than Scott "Show Me da Money...More Money" Boras, will be asking for more than that for Harper!!!

Look into the crystal ball...I see something in the future...not clear what exactly, a figure....a figure w/ lots of money....clearing up.....got it: Steinbrenner :question1:

That's the thing that kind of sucks about having consecutive top picks. It's like that for all the sports too. The guy that gets drafted in the same spot a year later wants more money than the previous guy and hasn't even stepped foot on a field yet. Scott Boras has way more money than he'll ever need with how many clients he has, just a greedy man wanting more money for greedy players. :question1: I'm sure Strasburg will probably live up to his contract, but what if he was or turns into another Mark Prior? That would just  and players in later drafts would want more money anyway. Just my .02 on that.

No problem. Hope the DH went well.

He did awesome while he was here for his AAA stint. Even had a few RBI's to go with all of the K's.

His debut here for the Chiefs was the first sell out they've had in decades.

Now having watched the sports report this morning - looks like he did a bang-up job last night. The kid has great stuff.

94 pitches in 7 innings,

14 K's

4 Hits

2 Earned Runs

0 Walks

He looked amazing yesterday vs. my Sox. 10 K's, 7 of them on secondary pitches (not fastball). He kept the hitters guessing all night and asside from giving up a hit to Gavin Floyd (the Sox starting pither), the Sox battled for everything they got off of him. He should be around for a while. He's got better mechanics than Mark Prior (previously known as the best college pitcher), so he should last a lot longer than that bum. Fourtunatly the White Sox are done with him for a long long time.

Two starts, three homeruns. The Orioles debuted a pitcher a couple of weeks ago against the Yankees. His numbers were a little less inpressive but no dingers, he won and that was against one of the best hitting lineups in baseball. Strassburg has let three go against some bad teams.

I'm not saying he isn't a standout pitcher but he should be kept in perspective.
