Old Lady in the outfield

I was doing bases on an adult league game in a city park today, and some old lady decided to cut across the outfield instead of walking around on the sidewalk.

No one noticed her until she got to about center field. PU saw her and called time, then we all sat and waited as she continued to walk at a slow old lady pace with small dainty steps to the right field fence. It was probably about a minute and half before she got off the field, but it sure felt like longer.

Someone should have ran out and helped her "across the street" or field as it is in this case. :angel4:

A field we use to work had an issue in the fall where people would randomly walk across the outfield to get to the football field. We were instructed by the league not to call time to let people cross. I got pretty frustrated one game and said a little too loud "I'll give my game check to the first person who hits one of these idiots in the head. For better or worse nobody earned my money.

Wasn't it Brewster's Million were a set of train tracks ran through the outfield and the game would be delayed when the train came through?
