Traditional or Wrap around?

If you're going to put together your own mask, or customize a mask w/ pads, do you go with the traditional or the "Wilson style" wrap around?

Has anyone used both and preferred the other for whatever reason?

I understand the theory behind the wrap arounds, but just wondering the thoughts here on this...

I've had both. My first +POS double bar mask has regular pads. I never had an issue with them. But I never had the Wilson standard pads.

I currently have the Dyna-Lite with the doeskin wrap around pads. Other than being wrap around they also just seem more substantial than the traditional pads.

FWIW even with the debate as to the wrap around pads actually being better at reducing/preventing injury/concussions, I figure it definitely won't hurt so why not use the wrap arounds.

The only pads I currently don't care for are the Diamond ones, they don't seem substantial enough for my taste.

Warren, that's great advice and I appreciate you responding to this. This is how I am basically thinking about this. I mean, both can be found within a $1 of each other if you look (leather, suede, etc) so why not go for a little more substantial.

I never gave it much thought. I generally use whatever pads that are on the mask. I am more concerned with vision and weight. There are some serious gear junkies that hopefully will weigh in.
