Two weeks ago in our Cal Ripken Majors league tournament. I am PU, with R2 and 0-1 count on the batter, I hear the scorekeeper (and so does everyone else in the stands and on the field) say from the press box, "Look at that bear!" Sure enough, in the hay field next to the ball diamond behind the concession stand is a black bear. Field, dugouts, and stands clear as everyone runs to the fence to look at the bear, as I say to no one......."Time."

hmmm... I don't know... I might have called "dead ball" in that situation...

I once had a game on an open field with no fence and during the late innings and near dusk the outfield was taken over by a small herd of deer. Not nearly as concerning as a bear. We decided that we had played long enough and this was natures signal for us to go home. Besides the bugs were absolutely fierce on that night. I can't recal the teams or the score but, I remember the events outside of the game.
