I will say this about the Reeboks. From all accounts, they are some of the most comfortable plates shoes around. Supposedly on par with the comfort of the NBs.

I will also recommend for the work boot companies is a company called Leheigh. I think they are based out of Orange County, CA but I could be wrong.

I had worn the NB for 2 years and picked up a pair of the reeboks...after that first game I had already sold my old NB to the BU for $25! I found the reeboks to be much more comfortable than the NB! I know for a fact that they are lighter as I weighed them (reeboks were 1.7lbs per shoe and the NB were 1.9lbs). Of course there is plenty room for error as this was a bathroom scale. I now have a backup pair of reeboks in the low cut style (my first reeboks are mid-cut) that I picked up on ebay for $55 (new).

They were so comfortable that I switched from NB on the bases to the reebok field magistrate (these are mid-cut as well), so I'm now a total reebok man when it comes to umpire shoes.

Im waiting for the size of the Reebok emblem to go down... even just a little bit.

Does anyone else know if they come in a wide foot? I like what I have heard about both the plate and base shoes but Reebok runs thin and like all other things in this great country, I run a little wide.

Most places are running very low on the Reebok plate shoes. I assume they're selling these before they sell the new version in the winter. I want to sell my NB 450's and get the Reebok's, but I won't until they get rid of the suede behind the white logo, which is what I've heard they're doing for the new ones for 2010.

That is absolutely correct. If you want to see a pic of it, the guy who has the midwest ump blog has one there. Still a lot of white, but looks much better without the suede. I saw in a Honigs catalog that the base shoes are going to have an all black option for next year, so hopefully the plate shoes will follow suit sometime thereafter.

I don't mind the white on the Reebok shoes. In fact, I like it quite a bit, especially on the base shoes. I'm planning on getting both the Reebok plate and base shoes before next spring.

You're right, it was on the Midwest Ump blog. Hopefully that's what the new ones look like.
