No Cactus, .... I'm just not afraid to comment on things like a lot of people. It doesn't matter what happens, there are some here that will defend ANYTHING that happens on the MLB field. Me, ...I just say what I see.

Maybe you should add a step between seeing and saying called "thinking". Look how far his foot was off the base when the ball got there. You really think that is so bad? It really isn't as bad as you try to make it seem. There are also some people here who watch multiple slow motion replays of a play and are able to tell the call was incorrect....then they post online about how terrible of a call it was and how it wasn't even close.

You're not looking good enough if you only saw 3 since 2009. Just last season he had a couple that were "bad" ...out of position, etc, etc ...

I typed his name into the search box for this forum. I really have no idea of the way you would want me to find the discussions about him which would produce better results. I'm sure he did make a couple mistakes last year. But he worked around around 160 total games last year. So he makes a mistake once every 50 games or so.

I will look forward to YOU being one of those that will defend regardless of the situation. And, as I take a quick look at your 5 posts, 3 of them were here in this professional section directed at me. So you see, I was right, you ARE one of those guys. :shakehead:

And I'll be looking forward to YOU being one of those that bashes the umpires regardless of the situation. I don't write anything on here too often. If the majority of my posts have been directed at you maybe there is a reason for that. I'm not so much for standing up for MLB umpires, rather I just respond to ridiculous posts. Nothing against you personally, but I would say the same things to anyone. You should take a step back and try to look at the big picture because right now you clearly don't get it.

That's funny. You make it sound like I'm jumping up and down screaming how terrible this is. You may want to go back and read my initial post, ...it simply says "bad". Nothing more, nothing less. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill...

You won't find every Cuzzi post just by typing his name, it's just the nature of a forum and the 'search' function.

First let me point out something that came up last season. Someone else had chimed in about me 'bashing' because I became known as the 'video' poster, and the 'basher' (not in exact words, but , I'm sure you understand). Well, I started to think about it, and I went back and found all of my posts for videos, and what I found out was this: MOST of my posts (by far) were positive or neutral posts re: MLB videos and plays,...far more than 'negative posts. So, your comment about me 'bashing' umpires regardless of the situation is (your word) ....ridiculous.

Ridiculous post uh ?? This play and situation wound up in many newspapers, online, etc etc ....and , look at the traffic this post has generated ?!? Ridiculous post ..... not so much.

Oh, and this is the second time you've used "you don't get it" with me, ...you need a new line there Cactus.... Your entitled to your opinion , and that's just super jim-dandy with me. It is what it is. I'm not the guy who's going to defend everything that happens on the big field. Nor am I the guy that's going to bash everything that happens either. If you'll pay attention, you'll 'get that' ....

Ok, ...I've said it numerous times before, ..... I'm just a small town , small association "house-hack" ....but I don't get paid the big-bucks!

This is bad

Sometimes I think we forget that with all the angles and slow motion and seeing it 3 or 4 times the calls get easier...we can become armchair umpires. He was there, in position and it was happening in real time. Not going to get them all right without replay and none of us want that...How many times on a post has someone said "the first time I saw it I had this, but now that I have watched it several times I have that."?

It wasn't the correct call, but it doesn't qualify even as worst of the week...IMHO

You make a good point MTNUMP .... part of this is the fact that this was in papers, online and there were other circumstances surrounding it with it's aftermath ...all that contributing to the situation....

This type of call is the exact reason why I don't like the call from the knee. When on the knee this eliminates the ability to take a "read step" to see pulled foot and swipe tag. I also think his timing was too quick on the call. If he slowed his timing down he probably gets the pulled foot.

People chime in about your bashing because you go around bashing umpires, it has nothing to do with you posting videos. If you weren't trying to make Cuzzi look bad you wouldn't have named the thread "Another Cuzzi call ......"

You start threads named "WOW!!!!!!!!" and "How is this missed???" There is nothing wrong with posting a video where the call was incorrect. You seem to be more interested in making the umpires look bad than discussing the play.

I am going to have to agree with you here. You are correct, ...I do that, and I did it here, I can't argue with that at all.

The 'last season' comment was to show that what I post isn't ALL negative, as a matter of fact it was more positive and /or neutral than anything else.

That said, ..your comment about my "comments" in the title or within the thread are true, and quite honestly ...I shouldn't do that. However, you're the only one in the thread that points it out ....almost 30 responses and 400 views, ...and you're the only one that pointed it out. Regardless, point taken

Yeah, I don't get hung up on the titles so much. I am more interested in getting to the heart of the matter. What happened in the video. Why it happened. And, was it done correctly or could it have been prevented. I don't care if someone bashes or stands behind them. If I cared about that, I would never get any better.

This one could have been prevented (possibly) if he was HOK instead of on 1 knee. But, his positioning (angle and distance) is correct IMO. He just missed it b/c he limited his mobility and possibly misread the throw. That's it as far as I can see. Maybe he was a little quick on the timing or maybe it was correct. I think it was OK but the game is quicker in MLB and decisions have to come as quick as possible in some cases, even at lower levels. That is a personal preference IMHO.

I don't see it as a gross miss anyway. You will get this everytime from B or C in two man but less often in four man. He may have had a shot if he isn't on his knee but only slight chance. When the ball gets there his foot is just coming off.
