With a runner leading off first the batter takes a pitch.On the catcher's throw back to the pitcher the ball hit's the bat and roll's into the dugout. The runner goes all the way to third. Can he stay there?

I agree with ump29, R1 has to be within a step of 2nd he has this base. The award is two bases,if you don't score R1 then BR is only awarded one base.

I guess it's suppose to be one of those proximity calls, you know just got to be somewhere in the area. I bet if the runner rounded second and missed the base by an inch Aybar would want the out on appeal. Play by the rules that's why they have them and us to enforce them:clap:

The snow's gone the sun is out and there is not a single person on any on the five fields. All games are canceled for the weekend because of expected rain. I guess we'll try again next weekend

Okay here's my dumb question for today:smachhead: Where do the numbers the umpires have on their gear come from? The umpire chief in the league I'm working says choose any number you like that's not being used by anybody in our system:shrug: what do you guy's say

Hello Blue--- My name is Ron. I've been coaching in little league since my son started in AA thru JR. league. After he finished JR. league I asked him to ump with me, so we became a father and son crew for the yalesville little league here in Wallingford CT..Five years have past since we started and I can't get enough, I've moved up to jr. league and my son likes to stay in the majors division.
