  1. I believe Wegner was wearing a Force3 mask. Must be a damn good mask. I know with myself, I've taken some hits to the mask (both being a long time umpire and catcher) and even I may make the joke with coaches and catchers that unless I go down to the ground, keep going.
  2. I'd like to hope so too. Definitely enjoyed seeing this crew work (especially Phil Cuzzi's Game 1). They usually do it every few years so I believe it'd be a toss up.
  3. So for the mask, I have the Hong's pro frame with the Team Wendy pads. It's light but not too light that you forget its there, takes the force of everything and easy to maintain. Highly recommend it. For the base shoes, I have the NB's and I love them. It's like running in regular sneakers.
  4. Grew up in Jersey City and live in Brighton Beach next to Coney Island (walking distance to MCU Park)
  5. I have to say that they are pretty good looking shoes. I have the older NB's in the all black and they lasted me a long time. I recently switched to the UA's since I knew a few guys that had them but I may switch to these depending on the price. Are there any official reviews out yet on them?
  6. Ok so I know I'm new and all but I wanted to give my $0.01 cent. I have worn a uniform (former LEO trying to switch departments), I have worked in the urban inner city areas and have been accused of being the white cop that doesn't care (which is egregiously false). While I myself will never kneel for the anthem, I have no issue with them doing it as it is their 1st Amendment right to do so, however, I am also under the belief that everything has its consequences and time/place. I will defend them if they kneel, I will defend them if they stand. I do not differentiate between white, black, etc. You and I are the American people. If it wasn't for some famous Americans protesting, others wouldn't be where they are today. As I said, for me, I cannot do it but I understand it. I also firmly believe that this whole thing has taken a misguided direction lately. In the beginning when Kapernick initially kneeled, it was all about police brutality. Now, most will tell you it is a protest against the US as a whole. I have no problem debating the issue and can find both pros and cons for both sides. The real question is...what's to come in the future?
  7. Hey all. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rich, I'm from Brooklyn, NY but originally from North Jersey. I have been an umpire about 16 years and started when I was 14 years old in between my own games and practices. I currently work 3 different levels: Assistant UIC for the LL District, executive board member of the High School association and do the showcase/travel ball stuff as well. On Oct 7th, I have my college tryout which I'm looking forward too and of course, that it goes well. Hope to interact a lot here and continue to learn from some of the veteran guys.
