4 Man Mechanics Pre-Pitch hand signals
Jackrabbitslims replied to Jackrabbitslims's topic in Umpire Mechanics
$5 shake is cheep today! -
Are there any additional hand signals to use when working a 4-Man crew? If someone has a reference sheet or video link it would be helpful. Thanks.

So what were the changes mechanically? The overall design of the book is much better.

Does anyone have a video of how to properly execute a pivot at 1st base? I know I just go at with a hope and a prayer and feel like i look very stupid.

@DerekGDS will we be able to order the college pants on the website?

Thank you for the help

You are umpiring a play at the plate. You are set up in the wedge, you know where you need to set up to have a good view, the play quickly breaks down. How do you know when you are supposed to reverse rotate to basically be looking at the catchers front?

BFX NCAA Charcoal....what is that color similar too? Does it match the Smitty Color more closely?

There is nothing out there that clearly explains the difference between umpire pants. Looking for a pant that is going to last, and keep me cool, or as cools as possible when wearing gear. How does Smitty, Davis Pro, Davis light weight and Davis V2 match up?

So, what pants are going to keep me the coolest when it is 98 degrees outside? Core light weight or the pant that is not out yet? -

4 Man Mechanics--Working Second
Jackrabbitslims replied to Jackrabbitslims's topic in Umpire Mechanics
Thank you for your help. Does anyone have anything on starting "on the dirt" with runners on 1st while working 2nd base? -
Umps, Do any of you have info on 4 man mechanics? I need all the info for positions. If anyone has specific info on using the wedge on a steal as well as how to get in positions for the double play on both sides of the field that would be appreciated.

Have you seen the videos UCU has been putting out in social media with the laser plate? Does anyone know what company makes it and where you coukd find more information out about it?

Cobalt Chest Protector Broken Clip
Jackrabbitslims replied to Jackrabbitslims's topic in Umpire Equipment
After All-star sent the wrong clip, one that fits came. To make it fit they want you to grind out the middle of the buckle to slide it into the strap so you don't have to take it apart. What is crazy to me is that it is not the exact same buckle. So the old male, doesn't fit the new female. The straps are pinched and just don't look great. I emailed All-Star and they sent me out a new protector. -
My clip broke my cobalt chest protector from a baseball impact. Any advice on how to replace the clip? Cobalt is sending me the male and female end of the clip system.

I have watched a lot of Minor League 2 man baseball. This is a challenging play for a high schooler to make and then throw to the plate. Plate guy should get the ball in play/ out of play/ catch no catch, do the best with the play at the plate. I have never seen a Minor league runner test a fielder on something like that. This might just be chalked up to the level of play. Might not be a right answer to this question.

Best cup (privates protection) ‘system’
Jackrabbitslims replied to aaluck's topic in Umpire Equipment
Need a link for Saxx -
I have always thought of it as an egg, but never heard anyone verbalize or write this. Be consistent. Call it in the 1st inning, call it in the 7th/9th inning.

Has the crew size for MiLB increased this year due to the change in leagues? Are certain leagues up to 3 or 4 man?

If you need a new bag give it a shot...it is cheep. I prefer my Amazon recommendation of Ump attire ball bags. High quality but expensive.
