Thanks for the quick responses everyone. We did have a pre game and I remember specifically stating that base umpire had all touches and tags at 1st and 2nd (and I view that BR into 3rd as a given). I was just wondering if there was some obscure mechanic that the CCA has for this situation, much like the Fed has home plate umpire take the BR into third with no runners on.

Hello everyone. Had a situation in college baseball yesterday that I had never heard of in regards to mechanics. R1 and R2 less than two out with a deep fly ball to the outfield. Both R1 and R2 are tagging. Myself behind the plate I bust down to 3rd for a possible play on R2 at 3rd. The issue I had was my partner claimed it was my responsibility to watch the tag up by R1. It’s been my understanding that base umpire has all touches and tags at 1st and 2nd and HP has all touches and tags at 3rd. Am I wrong here? Thanks for any feedback.

What exactly is wrong with the F3 mask? What don't you like about it? From all accounts that I have read online and from what I have gathered from those that have used it, it seems to be a great setup. Heck, even the crew chief for the All-Star game last year used it.

Under OBR, you can only disengage the rubber by stepping directly off the back of the rubber. And once done so, the pitcher can throw to any base, including home.

To me, I don't see how this isn't int. Very little if any attempt to get out of the way by any of the two guys.

Is the runner allowed to run on the foul line? If so, that's not uncoordinated at all, and will lead you easily to the base.

Exactly Thunderheads. Although, they do make a valid point in that the base is entirely in fair territory, whereas the runner's lane is entirely in foul. They forget, however, that the runner is allowed to exit the lane to touch the base. But, you cannot run the entire 90' in foul and expect to be granted leniency right at the base.

I saw the follow up on MLB network. There was a bunch of rambling on how the lane is on the right side of the bag and what is the runner supposed to do. Never mind the fact that he ran the entire 90' on the grass.

The topic of concussions and MTBIs is very complex. Many studies have attempted to pinpoint what the threshold g force for a concussion, and many have found what they thought was a solid number, but many blows above said level are not concussions and many below have resulted in concussions. And the repetitive sub-concussive hits can still cause brain damage, sometimes more so than a single concussion.
