  1. I have the Diamond DLG-iX3 leg protectors. I seem to always be fighting the "wings" that cover the ankle bones on the outside of both feet. They always seem to be "flying" as though the leg protectors are fitting too low or my shoes (N460's) come up too high. Anyone else have this situation? Nic
  2. I ordered the mock short sleeve shirts from ABUA and returned them. The neck was big, loose and floppy. This is the shirt (minus the ABUA logo): http://www.amazon.com/Colorado-Timberline-Dillon-Microfiber-Shirt-XL/dp/B0077S3Z1E/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1399477170&sr=8-6&keywords=short-sleeve+mock I have one ordered from Honigs and I'll report once I receive it. Nic
  3. Well, that settles that!
  4. Friends, I am wearing the Gold West Vest and have a question about the upper rib plates that sit just below my armpits. I'm wondering if they are to be tucked in behind the shoulder pads or in front of? They look awkward in front of but are it fits more comfortably that way. Thanks, Nic
  5. Thank you. Very helpful!
  6. Can you point me to a relevant rule?
  7. We had a runner attempting to score at home today. The throw from near third base went to the catcher who caught the throw in plenty of time. I thought he was going to get in a run-down but instead the catcher charged at him, tagged him and then shoved him. We both (my partner and I) signalled that the catcher was ejected for malicious contact but we let the out stand. Is that the proper call? Or should the malicious contact have resulted in the runner scoring? Nic
  8. My partner ruled that a runner returning to 1st after a caught fly ball had to be tagged because the force had been removed. I know that is wrong - that it is a force play on the runner returning to 1st but I can't verify with any rule why that is. Can anyone help? Nic
  9. I'm struggling with my low outside zone also and yesterday I took advice I read on here and tracked the ball so that I could read the log on the catcher's glove. It made me realize that I am, in fact, shifting my eyes back up to catch the batter's swing. In fact, I think I verbalized a strike that the batter offered at because my eyes were focused on the ball and catcher's glove. So, how do I see both the ball all the way into the glove AND the batter's swing?! Nic
  10. I'm trying to anticipate Spring games (March-May) in the Midwest. Some of those games can be very cold and windy so I'm looking for advice on how to dress to survive in those cold/windy games? Nic
  11. Very helpful - thank you! Studying the Oakley line is a big chore. The frames are one thing, the lens selection is a much larger issue. So, tell me what lens works best for you on the baseball/softball field!?
  12. Any new updates on this topic? I'm looking at the Flak Jackets but wonder about the merits between a polorized lens and a transition lens? I'd look at the M Frames but I wonder if there are as many lens options or whether they will continue to manufacturer polarized or transition lenses for this frame? Nic
