For the record he signaled me to come to him and said something about something. Maybe I should have said anything but I did. Tonight I had a varsity game and my partner tonight was at that game and asked me who he was and started picking him apart. I normally would have said anything but it was bad. Texarkana, it was Byrd and Evangal so it should have been reall good ball but it's was a walk gets.

LOL :-), I think every time I say something about mechanics I get beat up. I was just saying that's what I was told to do.

Also in between innings you should be on the defiance side of the field not the offense side!?!

Well Kevin: I was going to go with a white background but I couldn't find anything. LOL :-) The sun shield does help if you are wearing a plate hat but if I have my combo hat on it doesn't help at all. And I have not had a bird SH*# on me yet!

2 hour for 5 innings, tones of walks and when I was in "B" & "C" position it was all I could do to not shake my head at some of the balls he called. I know I'm not perfect so I try to keep that in mind but it was crazy.

I was working with a guy I have called with once before. He is new to High School like I am and we were working a JV game. These two schools are well known in the area as two of the best and I figured we would see some good baseball. But instead I was falling asleep on the infield watching walk, after walk, after walk. He was not giving them anything. If it was not over the plate and between the knees and belt it was a ball. After the TOP of the second inning when I knew he should have adjusted his strike zone, I made a comment to him and told him he may want to open it up a bit. He told me he thought his strike zone was fine. I told him my stike zone was and that I will give Varsity one ball off the plate, JV I may give two and knees to bottom of the elbows. He blew me off and I left it at that. It was a long 2 hour 5 inning game. Should I have said anything or should I have said something differant?

This Wed. I'm going to have a friends of mines son video two of my games. One when I have the plate and one when I have the bases. This way I can review my mechanices. I'm being told I'm not staying locked in but I think it's just a bad habit I have with a low ball. So I'm going to video and review to see what I look like and what I can see about my mechanics. Has anyone else ever done this?

Nice looking shoe but when I get the money together to get new field shoes I'm getting Brooks Men's Addiction 9 Road Running Shoe, they come in black. I have very bad flat feet and I get bad shine splints when I run on hard surfaces. Even with my weight loss I still get them from time to time so I'm going to invest in a motion control shoe. (null)

I don't know if it's meant to run through a washer but I had to try something. I will pull it out tomorrow and Lysol the hell out of it.

I have a Champro Pro-Plus Chest Protector. It's not bad but the foam padding on the inside socks up all the sweat. Now after three years it is smelling bad. I washed it in the washing machine but even after just one game it is back to stinking. Any ideas?!? I want a West vest, but I can't get one right now.

In the offseason I have been working out and dieting. I have lost 60lbs and I'm loving it. I even played fall mens league. I didn't do very well fielding but I did I did bat .600!!! I have none 5 high school scrimmages and I can tell a BIG change!!! (null)

I have dropped 36lbs now. I'm doing 5k in about 39 mins. So I decided to play in the Men's League rather than Umpire it. Wish me luck, I hope the umpire strike zone in very small. LOL

Can't afford camp but I am seeing this more. I may work it in to my mechanics next year. The more I see this the more I like it. Out front hammer, both dugouts can see it and have no question. I need to find a job so I can go to one of these schools! 

Why do most umpire finger point to the right? I will give the hammer for an out or swinging strike.
