The third pitch is the one in question. Fly ball hits BR on the head as he's running toward 1B. Was the call in the video correct?

He was partly in fair territory. BUT - where was the ball? I couldn't tell, but it's the position of the ball that matters.

Correct. What I should have said was judge where the ball was. If it was over fair area the out. If foul area then foul.

I just took it that it was fair but it was close.

Screen shot just before it hits the batter (ball is circled in red). Personally, I think it's fair, and should have been an out. I say it's fair because the runner's right foot is on the line, which would (most likely) place his whole body in fair territory.

It's a tough call from the angle, but I think it's fair.

Too close to call for sure either way. Left foot seems to be just touching the line. What angle is the path of the ball? View is a bad angle.

And most of all - did the outcome change the course of history in an unfavorable way?

There were MLB scouts in the stands, watching the pitcher. He ended up giving a base-clearing double on the next pitch, scoring the deciding run in a close game. Because of this, the pitcher wasn't signed to a multi-year, multi-hundred million dollar contract.

Darn the luck.

Great clip, catcher got a good look but where was the umpire? He should have been on the line to make the call. Live the first time I had fair and an out.
